Directions:

From The Dalles, Oregon, take highway 197 South towards Bend.  Maupin will be on 197, approximately 40 miles from The Dalles.



Meeting Time:

We will be meeting between 8:00 - 8:30 at the location of your lodging (The Oasis Resort or Imperial River Inn)

Directions:

From Yakima or Ellensburg, take State Route 821 to milepost 8  (231 Roza View Drive, Yakima, WA 98901).

Deschutes River Trip Customers

Before your trip, make sure you have the following items (not supplied unless indicated):

Waterproof Duffel Bag (bag provided):

  • Sleeping Bag

  • Air Mattress/Sleeping Pad (optional)

  • Towel

  • 3 days clothes including wool socks, underwear, t-shirts, 1 sweatshirt, 1-2 pair shorts, 1 pair long pants or sweatpants

  • Tennis Shoes or sandals

  • Toiletries

  • Garbage Bag for wet/dirty clothes

Day Bag:

  • ​Sunscreen

  • Hat

  • Waterproof camera

  • Raincoat

  • T-shirt

  • Flashlight/Headlamp (optional)

  • Polarized Sunglasses

Fishing Gear:

  • ​3 day Oregon State Fishing License (get online HERE)

  • Light or Medium weight rod (2-7 weight)

  • Reels with floating line

  • Wading Boots

  • Waders

  • Fishing Vest (optional)

  • Snipping Tool

  • Leaders - 9 foot 5X

  • Tippet Material - 2X through 6X

  • Fly Floatant

  • Fly Boxes

Flies (1 dozen flies/person provided):

  • ​Parachute Adams 14, 16, 18

  • Elk Hair Caddis 14, 16, 18

  • Beaded Prince Nymph 14, 16

Cooler:

  • ​Drinks as desired

  • Extra Cooler with drinks for camp (optional)​

Signed Liability Release:

  • ​We will complete this at the put in at the beginning of your trip with

your group - see PDF if you wish to review the release you will need to sign)

*Other expenses not covered include client vehicle shuttle costs (we will arrange for you as indicated in your confirmation letter) and lodging before/after your trip.  Feel free to contact us if you would like up to date costs for these services that are provided by other local businesses.
